Managing the replacement and the stocking of equipment engines

This paper deals with the quantitative analysis of mine maintenance records. Based on a case study of dozer engine records, the author suggests an easy method of deriving useful information for managerial decisions in a step-by-step manner. More specifically, the paper deals with the following topics: determination of the most economical replacement time, determination of reliability characteristics, determination of the number of replacements, and determination of the number of spares.
