Like other operating mine sites, Placer Dome Inc. — Campbell Mine has taken important steps over the last few years to address environmental issues.
This paper will provide specific insights into the implementation of an environmental management system at Campbell. In particular, it will focus on how Campbell developed its plan of action; the lessons that have been learned; the over-all steps that are being taken to enhance environmental stewardship and effectively manage relationships with key stakeholders.
