From Paper to Production: A Collaborative ’full lifecycle’ Model for Operations
Adrian Churcher, Mining Plus; Zach Allwright, Mining Plus
The successful delivery of a mining project is dependent on having the right technical team with the specific skills and experience to develop and operate the project. Attracting and retaining a ‘fit for purpose’ technical team to execute these projects can be difficult especially in a competitive market place. Even for established mines with existing workforces, a skill-gap can cause the mine to underperform and a lack of perspective on innovative concepts often means resistance the change. Ownership of technical decisions that span the full project lifecycle (Define-> Plan-> Operate) is essential. This paper describes a unique operational model that has allowed multiple North American mines to help overcome these problems and unlock their project’s potential.
