During the last decade the Peruvian government has been promoting the formalization of non-formal mining activities in the country. As result of this many small mining companies have developed agreements with communities and governments within which they should develop technical studies for the operation of the mine. One of these studies is the ventilation design for the underground mine. Cope Mina Mining Project is actually a small mining underground operation that use a natural ventilation system, it had been planned to increase its mining production form 100 t/day to 200 t/day and after that until 300 t/day so that a new mine ventilation study should be necessary in order to develop production in a safe way. This study consist in three parts. In the first part the actual mine situation is showed it has a current coverage of 95% with air entry 3,595 CFM of which the requirement for all personnel is 1,412 CFM, for contaminants dilution is 2,365 CFM; diesel machinery is not used for ore extraction it is realized manually using a small 1 ton miner car.  In a second stage for the short and medium terms planning the ventilation system was simulated with the software Ventsim VISUAL in order to determine the dimension of necessary fans for the mine as a main result of the introduction of diesel equipment into the mine in order to increase the production. Some try were develop in the software using small fans with different flows and pressures. The most suitable fan according to our infrastructure that optimize our ventilation system for the short and long term are small fans of 6,000 CFM, 1,000 CFM, 500 CFM and a medium fan of 15,000 CFM these fans should be able to allow enter more than 12,920 CFM that are required for the expansion
