Continuous Casting of Alloy Steel Billets

CIM Bulletin, 1954

Continuous casting of ferrous and non-ferrous metals is not a new innovation. Patents describing machines for continuous casting are on file as far back as the year 1842. In the middle of the last century, Sir Henry Bessemer conceived and built a continuous casting machine for the production of mild steel sheet.
