Ten Years of Mine Mechanization
A. LEE BARRETT
THE COAL INDUSTRY of the United States and Canada has made great progress in recent years. Coal mining in the o1d days represented one of the most arduous tasks for labour and industry, but over the years great progress has been made in reducing the effort required from labour. Also, the tonnage produced per man, the cost of the coal per ton, and the overall safety of the operation, have been greatly improved.
