W. B. DINGLE
M ANY PAPERS presented on developments in the Canadian Petroleum Industry during the past few years have commenced with this general sentence: "The past year has been a record one for the oil industry in Canada, with new records being set in nearly all phases of exploration and development ,activity". This sentence applies equally well to 1951. It is not possible to outline all the details of the broken records in exploration, development, and production but general comparisons can be made. There a re several significant developments that have stolen the spotlight during 1951 , some of which were foreseen in 1950 and some which were not.
