IF you would allow me some liberties, I would re-state the title of this talk as Scientific Research, Our Greatest Resource, because that title would represent more clearly a present-day conception of the metals and minerals situation. It is a subject worthy of careful consideration. Canada and the United States are so similar and interdependent in their national economies that, in the following discussion, examples of conditions in the United States may be interpreted to apply to Canada as well.
