Metallurgical Research tn Canada: A Symposium

CIM Bulletin, 1952

ALTHOUGH Canadian metallurgists have long been active in research, the scope of the work was somewhat limited until the beginning -of World War II. The rapid industrial development of Canada during the past ten years has been accompanied by .a similar upsurge in research. However, the wide geographical distribution -of the research centres has made it difficult for the individual research workers to meet together and to exchange ideas or even to learn what projects .are being investigated or the nature and extent of the facilities available for work of this kind.
