Lac Guéret Graphite Project: Co-Building Social Acceptability Trough Sustainable Development in Indigenous Territory

How do we foster social acceptability? How do we strengthen and maintain the social license to operate? This presentation explores the successful implementation of Lac Gueret graphite project in northeastern Quebec and how it’s sustainable development approach steered the project toward a deep partnership with the local and indigenous communities. We dive into the decision-making tools used, the key elements that created a favorable context, and the governance and ethical principles that support the project’s social integration.
