Diesel Mine Locomotive Maintenance

CIM Bulletin, 1956

THE APPROACH to maintenance must always be completely positive: there must be no question of putting off difficult problems until it is more convenient to tackle them. By this it is meant that a piece of machinery or equipment which, by experience, is known to be due for a check should not, merely because it appears to be operating satisfactorily, be left until it reaches a critical condition and breaks down.
