Deepening 'C' Shaft at Giant Yellowknife with the Cryderman Shaft Mucker
T WO METHODS of mucking have been used in sinking C shaft, the five-compartment production shaft of the Yellowknife property of Giant Yellowknife Gold Mines, Limited: (a) Band mucking during the original sinking in 1949 and 1950 (l); and ( b) Mechanical mucking with the Cryderman shaft mucker during the recent deepening in 1954. This paper briefly recent deepening and performance figures sinking operations.
