Conversion of Long Ore Pass Raises at H.B. Mine, Salmo, B.C.

THE ORE PASS raise system at the H.B. mine as contracted by the Patrick Harrison Company consisted of two raises 6 ft. by IO ft. in section at 60 degrees to the horizontal. No. 88-88 raise, the longer of the two, was a straight raise 690 feet long, with access only horn the bottom. In addition, this raise had two branch knucklebacks only one of which was driven by. the Patrick Harrison Company. The other, known as 88-89 raise, was 540 feet -long with knucklebacks at 280 feet and 410 feet.
