Beneficiation of Ores at the Flin Fl on Concentrator

THE Flin Flon concentrating and metallurgical plants (Figure 1) of the Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting Co., Limited, lie adjacent to the town of Flin Flon, on the Manitoba-Saskatchewan border, 400 miles northwest of Winnipeg. Since the start of milling operations in 1930, over 50 million tons of ore from the Flin Flon mine have been treated in the concentrator. During the past few years, newly '''Mill Metallurgist, Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting Co., Limited. discovered orebodies have been brought into production and their ores processed at the company's main metallurgical plants. All these properties are within a 75-mile radius of Flin Flon and leave aided substantially in augmenting plant metal production as well as retarding depletion of ore reserves in the Flin Flon mine. Current satellite producers a re the Schist Lake, Coronation, and Chisel Lake mines.
